About us · Our story

Ugh,
not again.

Everyone knows that sentence. So do we – not just from our customers, but from our own experience. That's exactly why Hostingmonster exists: so that tech is fun again and you get your peace back.

The scene everyone knows

Monday morning, coffee in hand.
And then …

Tap what sounds familiar. A monster will answer.

No pressure – you don't need to know any of this. But honestly: who hasn't been there?

Why we exist

We've experienced
all of this ourselves.

Not as onlookers, but as customers: with our own websites, our own servers and providers we relied on. A few experiences shaped us. We tell them without names – this isn't about settling scores, it's about doing better.

The monster promises

Every frustration became a promise.

Six things that happened to us – and six promises we make to you because of them. In writing.

What we experienced

The provider who doesn't answer

Ticket written. Waited. Followed up. Waited again. In the end we spent more time chasing than working.

What we promise as a resultClear question, clear answer

No dodging, no ticket ping-pong. If we don’t know something, we say so – and by when we’ll know.

What we experienced

The technician who suddenly vanished

From one day to the next, nobody could be reached. No handover, no cover, no message.

What we promise as a resultNo monster simply disappears

If something changes on our side – a contact person, a partner, a process – you'll hear it from us. Before you notice it yourself. Cover is always arranged.

What we experienced

The logins nobody knew about

Where is the domain? Who has the server password? For weeks we searched for the pieces of the puzzle.

What we promise as a resultYour logins belong to you

You get all the login details. And if you ever leave, you take everything with you – handed over cleanly, no strings attached.

What we experienced

The hacked website nobody was responsible for

The host pointed at the agency, the agency at the host. And we were stuck in the middle.

What we promise as a resultIncident? You know straight away

If something happens, we tell you openly what's going on, why and what we're doing. Nothing gets swept under the carpet – and we feel responsible.

What we experienced

The bill full of jargon

Line items nobody could explain. We paid anyway – with a funny feeling in our stomachs.

What we promise as a resultWhat’s agreed gets done – and documented

You get a regular report in plain English: what we've done for you. No services that only exist on paper.

What we experienced

“No, that's not possible.”

The standard answer as soon as something takes effort. Often it was possible after all – just not with that provider.

What we promise as a resultA promise is a promise

What we promise, you get. If something really isn't possible, we'll honestly tell you why – and what you can have instead.

At some point we said: It doesn't have to be this hard. If nobody else does it differently, we'll just do it ourselves.

Where we come from

From the DIY store idea
to the monster family.

Hostingmonster is an in-house brand of MiU24® KG. And it has been around since 2009 – ever since, we've been helping businesses that simply want their tech to work.

In use since 2009

Websites, email, servers, consulting: we've seen a lot. Above all, businesses that really just want things to work – and have no desire to study tech.

The DIY store principle

At a DIY store you find the right tool for every problem – and a person who explains how it works. That's exactly how we wanted to offer tech. That's how our BusinessBaumarkt (a DIY store for business tech) came about.

The dragon who wanted to put out fires

Many of us grew up with “Grisu the Little Dragon”, who would rather become a firefighter than breathe fire. That's what tech help should be like: put out the fire where it's burning. Hence our Monster Fire Brigade.

How dragons became monsters

Angular, colourful, a little bit crazy. Every monster has a favourite problem – and gobbles it up. Cute, because tech causes enough stress already. The work behind it is still serious and thorough.

Today: more than a host

IT service provider, hosting provider and consultant in one – with partners, tools and a growing community. What's new is listed openly in the changelog.

“Grisu the Little Dragon” is a cartoon character. We mention him only as a childhood memory that inspired us – Hostingmonster has no connection with the rights holders.

Our philosophy

Few rules.
But they apply.

What we stick to – on every job and with every monster.

  • Trust instead of fearMany make money from fear: security panic, tech jargon, small print. Not us. We explain what's really necessary – and what isn't.
  • Keep calmThings are rarely as bad as they first look. First take a breath, then understand, then act. Even when things are on fire.
  • Solutions instead of techWith us, you don't buy servers or licences, you buy a result: it works. We're happy to explain how – but you don't need to know.
  • Honest instead of “No, that's not possible”Almost anything is possible. We tell you openly how, how long and what it costs. And if something doesn't make sense, we'll tell you that too.
  • Independent like a brokerOur servers, your tech or a provider from the market: we take whatever suits you. If we earn something somewhere, we tell you.
  • Humans and AI as a teamAI takes the grunt work off our hands and helps with sorting. Listening, weighing things up and deciding – that's what people do. Digital first, human always.
  • Decide togetherWe suggest, you decide. Nothing happens over your head – and nothing you haven't understood.
  • Enjoying tech againTech is complicated enough. We want you to lose your fear of it – and enjoy it again when something just works.

One for everything – but not everything at once.

You decide how much you want to do yourself. Three routes – and you can switch at any time.

You do it yourself – we hold the ladder.

You get instructions, tools and a look from us when you're stuck. You only pay for what you really need.

It doesn't have to be that hard.

What sets us apart

Different.
Not better.

We don't point fingers at others. But you should know what you can rely on with us. Switch over and compare for yourself.

You decide whether we're a good fit for you. And if we notice it isn't working, we'll tell you that too.

Give and take

Everything has its price.
And we tell you upfront.

We're happy to help – and we have to make a living from it. Hostingmonster is give and take. That applies to businesses just as much as to associations, churches and public institutions.

Price up frontBefore we get started, you know what it costs. Nothing happens without your yes.
Time in 15-minute incrementsWhere time is involved, we bill in quarter hours. Traceable, piece by piece.
No bait offersNo bargain up front that gets expensive later. What it says on the tin is what you get.
Fair for both sidesWe do our best. In return, we expect fair pay and honest collaboration.

Are we a good match?

We're not a fit for everyone – and that's okay. Four honest questions, one honest answer.

Do you want to know what it costs beforehand?
As long as it's cheap – no matter how it's done?
Do you want a say in what gets done?
Are you looking for help for a business, an association or an organisation?
No answer yet.

Answer the questions – and this is where you'll see whether we're a good fit. Honestly, promise.

Compliance in plain English

Trust doesn't come on demand.
It comes in black and white.

What we promise is set out in our legal texts. Here's the short version – without the small print.

Data protection under the GDPR

We only ask for what we really need, tell you what it's for and delete what's no longer necessary. It's all in the privacy policy.

Data preferably in Europe

Wherever possible, data is stored in Europe. If a service is based outside the EU, we say so openly and secure the transfer by contract.

Data processing agreement under the GDPR

If we process personal data on your behalf, we conclude a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) – just ask us. Here's how it works.

Confidentiality

What we see at your place stays with us. On request, we'll sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).

Independent and fairly billed

We recommend what suits you. If we earn something from a provider, we say so beforehand. Billing is traceable, time in 15-minute increments.

Accessibility in view

We want our website to be usable by everyone – we check it against WCAG 2.2 AA and keep an eye on the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG – Germany's Accessibility Strengthening Act). Accessibility statement.

Found a security vulnerability?

Thank you! Please report it responsibly – how is explained under Report a security vulnerability and in machine-readable form in the security.txt.

AI with its cards on the table

Where AI helps out, for example with pre-sorting or summarising, we say so. Decisions about you and your job are made by people.

No ad trackers

No tracking cookies, no ad networks. Statistics only if you agree – without cookies and without an identifier. More about this.

For businesses and organisations only

We work exclusively for businesses, freelancers, associations and public institutions. Our terms apply only to them.

This overview sums up our principles in plain English and is not legal advice. The privacy policy, terms and your agreement with us are binding. Legal notice
